     We are a family business (husband, wife and a 2 beautiful girls) with over 20 years' experience in the travel industry and who share a passion for travelling, boats and living in Italy. We offer you the opportunity to rent a boat, of different sizes (from medium size to luxury yacht) at the most beautiful locations all over Italy. Touring around in one of our boats is the best way of getting to know the area, whether it is one of the beautiful Italian lakes or the Italian sea side.

Our History

​

     We started our operations in June 2017 in the area of Lake Maggiore and Cinque Terre, where the founder & director (and husband) Frederick serves also as the Captain of our boats in these areas. Thanks to our quick success, the support of our customers and our strategy to expand in the Italian territory we are increasing our presence all over Italy. We do this by building and developing strong relationships with our chosen local operator in each location. Currently we operate in Lake Maggiore (near Milan, our Headquarters), Cinque Terre and Portofino (near Milan, Pisa and Florence), the island of Capri and the Amalfi Coast (Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi), Sardinia and South Corsica (Costa Smeralda: Porto Cervo, Maddalena's archipielago, etc), Lake Como, Lake Garda.

     We have carefully hand-picked the best operator in each area and they all meet our high selection criteria, plus they all are family run businesses like ours. This supports our commitment to impact positively in the development of the local communities and the sustainable tourism in Italy.

​     Our boats can be rented with our Captain Frederick or with the local Captain (in Lake Maggiore you can also rent without Captain) , and at times you will also have a crew on board if you are renting one of our yachts (currently offered in Taormina and Catania in Sicily, in Portofino and in Cinque Terre). Each one of us will have the pleasure to show you the best spots and secret places in the area, and we will be at your service so you can fully relax with your friends, family or romantic companion.

     Our rental service has a range of competitive packages designed to meet different needs, and flexibility will be offered wherever possible. There is also the possibility to offer a tailored package on request (i.e. honeymoon, business event, fireworks' display, longer cruises on our yachts, etc). By booking with us you will also get the best value for money service on each location. Our relationship with each one of our partners is based on unique business model and a multilevel strong collaboration. This means that we promise you the best price (the same or cheaper) as if you were booking with them directly (we are not intermediaries).

These websites are owned by big corporations where anyone can post a boat to charter, sometimes without having the right insurance or permissions to do so, then you pay them a commission on top for their service, which usually is impersonal and money-driven. Instead, Boat Rent Italy is a network of family owned and run businesses where you don't have a middle-man offering you a charter but instead you are dealing and paying for your service directly to the Boat owner. Your booking process and customer support is offered directly by our Founder & Director, Frederick (See section "About us" above), this is how personal our customer service and care is when dealing with us :) .

Renting Without Captain

      Alternatively in some locations, currently only at our headquarters in Lake Maggiore (3 boats), our boats can be rented without Captain (Boat License required unless renting our Banta 460 boat in Lake Maggiore). If you decide this option, your knowledge will be tested during the initial coaching, where you will be taught everything you need for a safe and fun day. You will need at this time to demonstrate confidence and the minimum skills needed for taking up the responsibility on driving a boat. There is a requirement to pay a security deposit for renting without a Captain, which varies between 400 EUR to 2500 EUR depending on the boat.
